Studying at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa

June 10, 2011

Imagine this. You wake up every morning, open your windows and there it is – one of the most breathtaking natural views, right in front of your eyes! Clear blue skies, misty mountains, covered in lush green foliage, and a calm lake shimmering in the sunlight. “To stay at Lavasa City is one of the best advantages of studying at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa”, says a Batch II student, Bhavit Bhagerecha. Bhavit hails from Udaipur, and has joined the Swiss-affiliated institute in Lavasa, to pursue a career in hospitality management.

Studying at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa has other advantages too. Unlike other hospitality institutes, where importance is given to bookish knowledge, and excelling only in the academics, Ecole Lavasa makes sure that the students enjoy themselves while they learn. Combining lectures with fun activities like field trips to wine yards, or practical lessons from experts in the industry, or simply a cricket match between the students and the professors, makes the students’ stay at Lavasa more enjoyable. “Not only that,” adds Bhavit, “we get to work at the various hotels in Lavasa during practicals and get hands-on exposure to the current trends in the hospitality industry”. After completing his 4-year-program at Ecole Lavasa, Bhavit wishes to work for a couple of years before applying for higher studies. He will be joining the Taj Lake Palace Udaipur for his 2nd year internship program during his vacation. “I am very excited about working at the Taj, as it is one of the top hotels in the country.”

Another Batch II student, Natasha Jehani, who hails from Mumbai says, “Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa is our home away from home. The facilitators are very open and friendly with us. I have friends in other hospitality colleges, and they always complain about how professors don’t give students complete attention. Here, at Ecole Lavasa, we don’t face any such problems. Whenever we have any problems, we know who to turn to, without feeling any apprehension. Our facilitators are more like our parents than our teachers.” What she really likes about studying at Ecole Lavasa is the curriculum. During practicals, the students get to work at all kinds of hotels – right from 5-star hotels to budget hotels, from fine dining restaurants to fast food outlets at Lavasa. She agrees to what Bhavit has to say about Ecole Lavasa’s ‘Some work, some play’ philosophy. I really enjoy studying here at Lavasa. It’s very peaceful here, as compared to the chaos of Mumbai city.

It goes without saying that Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa is one of the best institutes in the country.
