My life post Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa!

June 4, 2010

Hotel Management is not meant for you!

What about our reputation??

How much would you earn??

These were the frequent questions asked by my folks!! Right from my childhood, I was highly inclined towards the managing acts of the various family functions and festive occasions! Soon, my relatives and friends started asking me for various ideas and themes for their parties and functions. Also not to forget, cooking was my passion. Since childhood, I was highly fond of cooking.

Soon after my 12th standard, where I scored a decent 76%, I was head strong on taking up Hotel Management! Next step was to enroll for  Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa!! A quick search on the net and I instantly feel for LEH!! The whole concept of being amidst nature, the various student activities offered and much more simply won my heart!

Talking about the training programme at LEH, I must say its a boon for a Hotel Management  graduate. Here are a few highlights which in my opinion are the best part at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa:

1)The Hospitality Management Programme is academically certified by Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), Switzerland the oldest and most prestigious hotel school in the world.

2)LEH students will have two business internships with prestigious hospitality brands in India and abroad.

3)My favorite-  Five live restaurants on campus supported by 5-star kitchens.

4)Multi-media classrooms, 4 auditoriums and an amphitheatre.

5)Cyber-hotel that brings in the latest technology – The whole training was just  amazing !!

Well, after the completion of my course, I got to work as an intern in a three star hotel in Mumbai itself. Well, trust me guys, life isn’t that all easy at the initial stage but yes with time you get to learn new things which really help you in the long run.

Soon I started working as a chef in a five-star hotel in Mumbai. I realized that my educational background helped me in finding jobs easily. Within three years I was appointed as the head of the Mumbai Chef committee. I worked with various chefs around Mumbai, discussed on various cuisines, how to implement new dishes and the most important thing how to keep the quality intact. Well, all this greatly helped me to understand my role of a chef in a better manner.

As I was happy playing the role of a chef and a committee head, another opportunity knocked my door. My friend who is a hotelier himself, offered me to be the Joint CEO of his three star hotel. The huge set of responsibilities frightened me at first but soon I got to the core of handling such a huge hospitality company. Today I can proudly say that whatever I have achieved is truly because of my studies. The standards at which we were taught at LEH are  incomparable. The facilities, the exposure and the teaching all have made me more confident today.

I would highly recommend all aspiring chefs and hospitality candidates to join Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa !!

Wish to be a part of LEH?
